Python Job: Support Engineer (Python+MongoDB+Docker)

What will you be doing:

Our FlexData team looking to add a person to help with the support and monitoring of the FlexData and reporting product.

It is a docker-based python solution that has a mongo database setup on a RedHat Linux OS. Grafana UI is utilised to continuously monitor the product.

Responsibilities

The role will be to work with

• The data team to understand the product and solution.
• Teams in Asia, Europe, and the USA to support clients.
• Debugging issues that come up within python, docker, and scripts – raising tickets for the development team with first level-info on the bug/problem.

The person will gain an understanding of

• Modern software solutions including python, docker, mongo-DB, and Linux.
• Trading workflows including hedge funds, asset managers, and brokers.
• Asset classes including Equities, FX, and Fixed income.
  

Education: BSc or equivalent in any stem subject

Experience with databases (MongoDB is a plus!) and a basic understanding of

• Aggregation tasks
• Queries

Experience using Linux terminal and BASH scripting.

Experience with Docker and docker-compose beneficial

Understanding of FIX and trading workflow beneficial
